What the AI actually does
Uliya, the built-in assistant
Ask questions about your files, draw on your own knowledge base, and control the NAS in plain language.
Universal Search
Find photos, videos, documents and apps from one search box.
Processed on the NAS
UGREEN says the AI features run locally, on the box you own — not by sending your files to a cloud AI service.
Should you buy one?
Buy the iDX6011 if…
- You want AI search and an assistant over your own files, run on hardware you own
- You need lots of space — six bays plus two M.2 slots
- You edit video over 10GbE or Thunderbolt 4
- You run Docker containers alongside everything else
Buy something cheaper if…
- You just want to stop paying for iCloud or Google Drive — a DH2300 (£176.99) does that
- You want Plex and backups — a DXP2800 (£279.99) or DXP4800 Plus (£525.99) is plenty
- You will never use the AI features — you would be paying for them anyway
How long until a NAS pays for itself?
Against a 2TB cloud plan at £8 a month — roughly what a mainstream 2TB plan costs in the UK. NAS price only; drives are extra, but so is the cloud’s next tier when you outgrow 2TB.
| UGREEN NAS | Price today | Pays for itself in |
|---|---|---|
| DH2300 | £176.99 | 23 months |
| DXP2800 | £279.99 | about 3 years |
| DXP4800 Plus | £525.99 | about 5.5 years |
| iDX6011 32GB | £1,999.99 | about 21 years |
The iDX6011 is not the cheap way off the cloud. It is the way to get local AI, a lot of storage and fast networking in one box — pay for it if you want those.
UGREEN iDX6011: common questions
How much is the UGREEN iDX6011 AI NAS in the UK?
From UGREEN’s UK store: £1,999.99 for the 32GB model, £2,999.99 for the 64GB model and £4,999.99 for the iDX6011 Pro. All are diskless — drives are extra.
Is the pre-order or early-bird deal still available?
No. UGREEN’s crowdfunding campaign — with early-bird pricing and £30 deposits — has closed. The iDX6011 now sells at its normal retail price from UGREEN’s UK store.
What does the AI actually do?
Uliya, UGREEN’s assistant, answers questions about your files, uses your own knowledge base and can control the NAS. Universal Search finds photos, videos, documents and apps from one place. UGREEN says this is all processed locally on the NAS.
What is the difference between the iDX6011 and the iDX6011 Pro?
The Pro steps up from an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H to a Core Ultra 7 255H, is rated at 96 TOPS of AI compute, and adds a 3.7-inch touch display. Both have six SATA bays, two M.2 slots, 2× 10GbE and 2× Thunderbolt 4.
Is the iDX6011 worth it just to replace iCloud or Google Drive?
Usually not. If you only want to stop paying for cloud storage, a UGREEN DH2300 (£176.99) or DXP2800 (£279.99) does that for far less. The iDX6011 makes sense when you want the local AI, lots of storage and 10GbE/Thunderbolt speed.
Does it come with hard drives?
No. It is diskless. It takes six SATA drives and two M.2 NVMe SSDs; UGREEN quotes up to 208TB with the largest drives.
