What Samsung Galaxy Phones Need: PPS Explained

Samsung uses a charging protocol called PPS (Programmable Power Supply) for its "Super Fast Charging" feature. This is an extension of the USB-C Power Delivery standard that allows the charger and phone to negotiate the optimal voltage in small increments, reducing heat and maximising efficiency.

The key point: Not all USB-C chargers support PPS. A standard USB-C PD charger (like Apple's) will charge your Samsung, but only at 15W "Fast Charging". To unlock 25W Super Fast Charging (or 45W on Ultra models), your charger must explicitly support PPS.
